Released in just three theatres 2, it is said to have passed from hand to hand, in VHS format, among horror and necrophilia enthusiasts of the worst video libraries of Germany. The result is Nekromantik: a terribly uncomfortable, profound, cult movie. He decides to shoot a movie, with the help of Manfred Jelinski as a producer and a small troupe of real pioneers. In particular, Jörg Buttgereit, a young and active German director, doesn’t like film censorship 1. But perhaps, deep down, in the collective unconscious, there is still something unsaid, removed, disturbing. ![]() West Berlin is the “showcase of the West”.
